WRITTEN EXAMINATIONS

Individuals who are registered as a Test Administrator for the NJATC Electrical Trades Aptitude Test can also become qualified to administer the six levels of the online Craft Certification Examination.  If you are not registered as a Test Administrator, you must complete that training prior to becoming qualified to administer the Craft Certification Examinations.

To become registered as a Craft Certification Test Administrator, send an email request to CraftCertification@njatc.org.  Include your credentials (Name, Test Administrator Training Date and Location, Test Administrator Number and a personal email address) in the body of your email, along with other contact information such as program affiliation, mailing address and phone numbers.

Once your credentials have been verified, you will receive an email with a PDF manual that provides information about how to set up examinations, register individuals to take examinations, and schedule individuals into specific examination sessions.  You will also be assigned a password which will allow access to the NJATC/RedVector website to administer your exams.

NOTE: Group email addresses are not allowed.  Requirements for use of the Craft Certification site specify that the email address used for your account must be private, and only know to you as a proctor.  Multiple proctors from a JATC or other entity can become qualified but each must have his/her own secure email address.

To set up exams or review the results of exams which you have administered, you must:

1.)    Log on to the NJATC "Members Area" link at the top of this page.
2.)    Click on the "Craft Certification" link.
3.)    Enter your Craft Certification "username" and "password".

You will then be directed to the Craft Certification Test Administrator site.

For each Level 1 through Level 5 examination which you administer, your program will be billed a $5.00 administration and delivery fee.  For each Level 6 examination you administer, your program will be billed a $10.00 administration and deliver fee.  Note: You will only be billed for exams which are delivered.  If you schedule ten (10) individuals to take and examination and only eight (8) actually take the examination, you will only be billed for the eight (8) that actually challenged the examination.

PERFORMANCE EVALUATIONS

Individuals who have completed the NJATC Performance Evaluation Training Course can become qualified to deliver performance evaluations to individuals in their program.  Evaluators must be registered with the NJATC to receive evaluation packets, and to receive scoring of completed evaluations from the NJATC.  In addition, evaluations can only be performed in Performance Evaluation Stations, approved by the NJATC.  To receive a copy of the drawings for the Evaluation Station, send an email to CraftCertification@njatc.org including your name, JATC program or Local Union affiliation, mailing address and phone number requesting the information.  The drawings will be shipped to you when your information is verified.

Once you have been qualified as a Performance Evaluator, you must order a Performance Evaluation Packet for each individual to be evaluated.  Each Performance Evaluation requires the use of the Performance Evaluation Kit.  The kit contains all materials required to complete a performance evaluation for one individual.  Material included in the kit include:

    1.)    The evaluation registration form.
    2.)    The evaluee information sheet.
3.)    A procedures manual and scoring booklet, with evaluation summary sheet.
    4.)    Project (Evaluation) blueprints.
    5.)    Project (Evaluation) specifications.

Once the evaluation has been completed, the summary sheet is returned to the NJATC, and a detailed report is emailed to the Performance Evaluator with information about the results of the individual evaluation.

For each Performance Evaluation Kit which you order, your program will be billed a $10.00 administration and delivery fee.  This fee includes the cost of printing the materials, scoring the forms, entering the information into the Craft Certification Database and reporting the results to the Performance Evaluator.  To order evaluation kits, use the standard NJATC Order Form and process.  Order NJATC publication number "PERFEVAL".  Note kits can only be ordered by authorized parties.  Performance Evaluations are serially numbered, and you will be billed for each kit you order.

NOTE:  In the near future, additional incremental performance evaluation criteria will be available to allow the evaluation of individuals on individual process and tasks.  When available, these incremental evaluations will be announced on this website and in NJATC Bulletins.
